APRA (Appropriate Poverty Reduction Action) is registered in Kenya as a NGO whose goal is to create access to socio_economic opportunities to improve livelihood
Our long term strategies include :- Training, Mobilizing, Lobying, Advocacy, Research, Partnerships, Collaboration, Networking, Relief and Support
The APRA finances her activities using funds and resources contributed by members and program partners. APRA has a strong in-house system for planning, implementation, monitoring and evaluation. The management is based on participatory Bottom-Up approach.

OUR GOALS
Appropriate Education and Skills Development
Our goal is to empower communities to empower communities to acquire the necessary competence, knowledge and skills for effective governance, leadership and management. This has been achieved through:-
Conducting institutional capacity building initiatives
partnering with Governmental, CSOs & INGOs to mobilize adequate resources for the implementation of APRA-Programs
Build an educated and well informed community by providing accessible and affordable educational, informational services
Conducting research and formulating appropriate initiatives to address socio-economic needs in addition to developing and implementing communications and information sharing plans
Water, Sanitation, Health and Environment (WASH)
Our goal is to empower and support member SHGs and communities to:-
Establish curative and preventive health care facilities
Promote and support access to clean water, environmental conservation and sanitation projects
Conduct community awareness campaigns towards HIV/AIDS prevention
Children, Youth and Gender
We advocate and support the girl child and OVCs to access better education, food, health & shelter
Advocating for protection of children rights as enshrined in the UNCRC Articles
Empower the youth to fully participate in appropriate education and entrepreneurship
Promote equity and gender participation in leadership, governance and management affairs of families, community and nation
Peace, Justice and Governance
Our goal is to conduct training and advocacy for conflict resolution, counselling, healing and awareness on tragedies associated with family and political violence
Advocate for human rights and justice for all
Promote human rights based approach and trauma healing initiatives
Agribusiness, Enterprise and Cooperative Development
Our goal is to improve the economic status of our communities through better farming methods, value addition, investments, income generating activities, savings and credit schemes for members, Women and the Youth.
We also conduct leadership and entrepreneurship trainings in addition to promoting capital mobilization and establishing a microfinance banking solution
